Every Coming Soon Sign at MarketStreet This Fall Promises Something to Do

October 8, 2026

Ivory clapboard home with an oak front door, covered bluestone entry, broad lawn and autumn hydrangeas.

"At MarketStreet, we're always looking to introduce experiences that give people a reason to gather, explore and discover something new," Charlotte Woods, MarketStreet's general manager, said in July when Matsunori Handroll Bar was announced. It's the kind of line that comes with any tenant announcement. As of the first weekend of October, though, it matches the directory closely. Four businesses are still listed as coming soon, and each one describes itself by what happens once you walk in. None leads with what's on the shelves.

That pattern shows what the next stage of MarketStreet will look like for anyone who already parks there on a weekly errand. It also explains why the October calendar has more specific dates on it than the store list does.

Four Signs, Four Self-Descriptions

These are the businesses still marked "Coming Soon" on MarketStreet's own tenant pages, in their own words. None has posted an opening date.

  • Gem Studio calls itself "a creative, community‑driven jewelry making experience where guests design and handcraft pieces," built around silversmithing as "a hands‑on, expressive art form that invites people to slow down." Its tenant page went up September 2, 2026.
  • Skinkind is "bringing its cult-favorite facial retreat to the neighborhood" from its Back Bay original. The page lists a menu that includes dermaplaning, LED, microdermabrasion, microneedling and hydrafacials, each "finished with a grounding massage."
  • Date & Time sells luxury timepieces and fine jewelry. Even so, its description says it is "redefining the traditional shopping model to create a true experience for consumers, one with a strong human element." Its page went up September 25, 2026.
  • Matsunori Handroll Bar is a temaki counter that serves each handroll individually. In its announcement, the restaurant said guests "will be invited to slow down and savor each course as it arrives."

Two of the four say "slow down" in nearly the same words. One sells jewelry, and the jewelry store's copy talks about service and the human element. That's as much as the sign copy shows, so this is a reading of the descriptions, not a stated plan.

The September Opening That Hasn't Happened Yet

Matsunori is the clearest test of how long these openings take. When Lynnfield Weekly News and Patch ran the announcement on July 14, 2026, the restaurant was set to open "this September," with the opening date, hours and reservation details to be announced closer to opening. September is over. As of October 4, Matsunori's own website still reads "OPENING SOON" and "DETAILS TO FOLLOW," and MarketStreet still lists it as coming soon.

When it does open, it will be easy to find. It's going in next to sweetgreen and across from The North Face. This is the brand's first suburban location and its first on the North Shore. It's run by restaurateur Kevin Liu, whose French-Japanese izakaya Mai opened in the Seaport in 2025. The menu runs on a "more fish than rice" approach. It starts with tuna and salmon handrolls and goes up to Hokkaido uni, bluefin tuna belly, Kaluga hybrid caviar and A5 Miyazaki wagyu.

Liu said MarketStreet stood out for "its atmosphere, strong dining mix and sense of community." Until the restaurant posts a date, the July announcement still says September, and that window has passed.

What Has Opened, and What Has Left

Two new names have switched from "Coming Soon" to "Now Open" this fall. The North Face's tenant page went up August 6, 2026, and Rivian's went up September 15, 2026. Neither page gives an exact opening day. Rivian follows the same pattern as the coming-soon group. It's an electric vehicle brand, and its tenant page talks mostly about getting outdoors and "off-the-grid experiences," with little about the showroom.

These arrivals follow a year of steady turnover. Wahlburgers at 930 Market Street closed April 27, 2025, after its lease expired. Claire's was listed for closure in August 2025 after its parent company filed for bankruptcy. It no longer appears in MarketStreet's May 2026 directory.

The arrivals have spread across categories. A March 2025 announcement named Glowbar, Abercrombie & Fitch, INDOCHINO, Free People, Faherty, The Escape Game and Oola Bowls. That September, ALO, CAVA, Union Square Donuts and Rowan were announced as fall additions. State & Liberty was reported open at 696 Market Street in February 2026.

The May 2026 directory shows how much of the property already runs on appointments and sessions. It lists Club Pilates, Pure Barre, Solstice Power Yoga, Restore Hyper Wellness, Skin Laundry, Neem Medical Spa, Semper Laser Hair Removal, MiniLuxe, Bond Vet, a Lahey Health Hub, The Escape Game and Kings Dining & Entertainment. Gem Studio and Skinkind will join that part of the directory. They aren't a departure from it.

October Is Built Around Showing Up on a Specific Day

The events calendar follows the same idea. Most October listings at MarketStreet are tied to a particular date and time, and several only work if you're there in person.

Yappy Hour on October 14 has the most to it. You can bring a dog in costume, get a drink from the Guinness beer garden, and compete for prizes in both the best dog costume and best human costume categories. Registration is open through MarketStreet's event page. Little Chefs at Davio's runs Monday nights starting at 5 p.m. and centers on pizza making, so it fits the hands-on pattern too. Pottery Barn's October 25 session is timed for the start of holiday travel season and focuses on getting a guest room ready. The calendar already lists Custom Pottery for the Holidays on November 7.

The Same Weeks Across Town

Lynnfield's own October calendar is full of fixed dates too, and several of them land on the same weekends as the MarketStreet events above.

The Lynnfield Village Home and Garden Club opens its new season Monday, October 5, at 6:30 p.m., with speaker Susan Nook. The library's community calendar lists Teen Spooky Night that same evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Lynnfield Girl Scouts will hold a "Try Girl Scouts" evening at the Lynnfield Meeting House on Thursday, October 8, from 6 to 7 p.m.

On Sunday, October 18, the fourth annual See The Good 5K Walk starts at 9 a.m. on the Town Common. That's two hours before Jazz Brunch opens at La Gallina. The Lynnfield Historical Society's October 20 program features Daniel Harrington on "The Sinking of the Larchmont off of Block Island, with a Lynn Connection." Monthly meetings are held at Centre Congregational Church and start at 7 p.m. unless otherwise noted. The library calendar also lists Teen Fall Candle Painting on October 23 from 2:15 to 3:30 p.m., and Lego Saturday on October 31 from 10 a.m. to noon.

One familiar date is missing. Historic Lynnfield's website hasn't posted a 2026 Fall Festival date and says only "Stay tuned for upcoming events in 2026!" Last year's festival was held in late September.

The Matsunori opening date is the next one to watch. Once it posts, Gem Studio, Skinkind and Date & Time will be the last coming-soon signs left on the directory.

The Marjorie Youngren Team follows changes in Lynnfield the way longtime residents do, one MarketStreet sign and one Town Common event at a time.
